Richard Berger

Bio

Indie artist based in LA

Richard Berger was born in Philly, grew up on East Coast and is now living in LA. He was drawn to the piano and keyboards at very young age and started writing and recording music in high school. “I was always less interested in learning cover songs and loved the idea that I could create something original that never existed before.” Berger’s early influences include The Beatles, BeachBoys, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, all of which he listened to since elementary school. In the 80's and 90’s Berger listened to a lot of new wave and modern rock bands like Tears for Fears, Level 42, Trip Shakespeare and Ben Folds Five. “These days, I have been listening to a lot of Tame Impala, Homeshake, Mac Demarco, Anderson Paak, Frank Ocean, Mac Demarco, Bon Iver and The Internet. I am always looking for new music and love to discover other indie artists.”

Berger has a hard time answering that question everyone asks…what genre is your music?… “I don’t really think my music fits neatly into a single genre - probably some blend of indie/alternative to psychedelic synth pop. His music clearly blends together elements from his wide range of his influences to create something new and unique.

Berger released his first 3-song EP “Not There” in 2018. Since then, he has released 4 singles in 2019 and is releasing his latest single “It’s Not Gonna Go Away” on 4/24/2020 with an album coming later this year..

For now, Berger is not planning any live shows and is focused on completing his first album. You can hear Richard Berger on all major music services and can follow him on Instagram at www.instagram.com/rberger25.
